From Langhe to Monferrato. Piedmont wants to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site

The story. The nature. The wine. Piedmont, a region of Italy, has presented its nomitation to UNESCO to obtain the title of World Heritage Site for Langhe, Roero e Monferrato.

The Unesco judges’verdict will arrive in the 2012. In the meanwhile, Piedmont sharpens its tools.

The Region has just signed with province of Asti, Province of Alessandria and Comune di La Morra (a city in the Province of Cuneo) a treaty to raise fund to protect and restore historical
buildings and important rural areas.

Interviewed, Mr. Cavallera (Vice President of Piedmont) said the UNESCO award would be another piece of a puzzle to make “A unic land” known in the world.
