EFSA 10 th Scientific Colloquium on pest risk assessment

In the European Union independent scientific advice on risks posed by plant pests is provided by the Plant Health Panel at the European Food Safety Authority. The Panel’s mandate is to provide
pest risk assessment with regard to the safety and security of the food chain. The Panel’s ambition is to provide sound foundation for European policies and legislation and to support the risk
managers in taking effective and timely decisions.

The objective of this Colloquium is to convene Europe’s eminent scientists and experts to discuss different aspects of the pest risk assessment process that the EFSA Plant Health Panel should
consider when providing scientific advice to the European Commission.

The meeting will be structured to enable the participants to reach conclusions and make recommendations by allowing focused discussions in small groups after a short plenary session.
