Annual meeting of 'Emerging diseases in a changing European environment' project

By Redazione

The third annual meeting of the EU-funded EDEN (‘Emerging diseases in a changing European environment’) project will be held in Brno, Czech Republic on 14 to 18 January. A public plenary
session, during which the results of the project will be presented, will take place on 16 January.

The aim of the EDEN project is to anticipate, prevent and intervene against the emergence of vector-borne diseases in Europe. Many of these diseases, which can be transmitted by ticks, rodents
or insects among other things, are already found in Europe (tick-borne encephalitis, leishmaniasis etc), while others could appear as the climate changes (such as malaria or West Nile virus).
