Workshop: 'putting the human back into colour'

By Redazione

A workshop entitled ‘Putting the human back into colour’ will be held in Charleville-Mézières, France, from 21 to 24 February.

The aim of the course is to answer questions such as why do we find certain colours calming while others can enrage? Why are we unlikely to choose food in brown packaging? Why are some colours
more fashionable than others?

Experts from a wide range of disciplines, including anthropology, linguistics, emotional research, architecture and interior design, and the use of colour in therapy, will use science to shed
light on these questions. Topics will include the physical and psychological nature of colour, colour in memory, vision mechanisms, and the role of colour in industry, fashion, cosmetics, art
and architecture.

The event is organised by the EU-funded CREATE (Colour research for European advanced technology employment) project.
