Improving sustainability in organic and low input food production systems

During March 20-23, 2007, the third QLIF Congress offers a full update on reserach related to the congress theme “Improving Sustainability in Organic and Low Input Food Production
Systems”.
The venue is the University of Hohenheim, where the QLIF congress is held in parallel with the 9th Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture in the German speaking countries.
This conference will gather more than 600 scientists, advisors, farmers, processors, traders and officials from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other countries. The dialogue between European
research and regional actors is an important goal of the joint conference.
The University of Hohenheim, organiser of the conference Between tradition and globalisation, offers three excursions in the afternoon of March 20, 2007, prior to the two conferences.
Participants of the 3rd QLIF Congress are welcome to join these excursions. Registration for the excursions is possible together with the registration to the 3rd QLIF Congress.
At the QLIF Congress a workshop on self-sufficiency in organic farming will be held. The objective of the workshop is to elucidate research initiatives specifically contributing to
self-sufficiency in organic farming, and in this way inspire and enhance international and transnational research cooperation. The workshop takes place on March 21, from 17.00 to 18.30.
