Twelfth update on applying EU feed and food controls regulation
An update on the progress since August 2007 relating to the measures being taken to apply European Union Regulation 882/2004 on official controls in the UK has been published by the Agency.
Regulation 882/2004 sets out general requirements for competent authorities, or enforcement authorities, that are responsible for checking that businesses comply with feed and food legislation.
This latest update highlights the making of the new Official Feed and Food Controls (England) Regulations 2007 (and parallel legislation in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
It also provides information on the publication of Guidance Notes on the provision in the new Regulations for expenses arising from ‘additional official controls’.
The update also provides information on the Commission’s ‘Better Training for Safer Food’ initiative.
